Dessert for ISYS100



Here we go guys, we made our video at Max Brenner Macquarie Centre. We decided to make this video at Max Brenner because they offer various kind of dessert from hot to cold, sweet to bitter. First of all we introduce our self as a team members, and then we decided to get 5 of the deserts from Max Brenner and let the audience know how it looks, how it taste and the name of all the served dessert.

To sum up this blog and vlog (video blog) are talking about the dessert that we bought and tasted recently. Overall, all of the dessert that we have posted and we tried in the video were nice and highly recommended to desserts lover!

85° Birthday Cakes


This one came as a surprise to me!
Earlier this week my colleagues surprised me and another worker with birthday cakes from 85°. I knew they were expensive but I was grateful mostly because of the amazing taste!


Above is one of the photos that my colleagues took before they surprised us, and below are photos of me eating the cake... It was an interesting experience. My cake was a cheesecake infused with a lot of cream, and my colleague (who turned 25) had a chocolate tiramisu cake.



Overall, the cakes were pretty good. My only concern in relation to the purchase is the price of the cakes. I don't know the exact cost but 85° is known for having high prices for only decent cakes.

Yum Cha Mango Pancake


This one named mango pancake is one delicious dessert for Chinese south morning tea, a lot of people from GuangDong province is preferred to share it with family member. Mango pancake is made from cream and one big mango fruit in the pancke. The outside skin for that is also made by mango, but different cook. When having this dessert, full cream and the taste is same as the ice-cream. Although it is very nice, the people who is fat should control the quality every meal.

Messina


So hi everyone we are back !!! so yesterday we went to star city to try the best ice cream in town. And it is the famous Messina.

When we get there, there are long queue in front of the store.. Luckily, we had an opportunity to try their special menu on that day, Peanut butter ice cream with pop corn and fairy floss..

I had one scoop of the ice cream for $7 per cup. The taste was really really nice, the texture of the ice cream, the sweetness and the saltiness were perfect !

I really recommend you guys to try this perfect ice cream. they also offer more than 20 various flavour to try

Black Sticky Rice


Hi guys, I went to an Indonesian fine dining restaurant a while ago named Teras Bali in English we call it "Balinese Terrace". The restaurant have a nice decoration that consist of traditional indonesian decoration combined with modern decoration. Besides the decoration, the restaurant is surrounded with nice environment and view.

The restaurant is located in 2/17 hickson road, Dawes point. This place could be accessed by train to Circular Quay and walk around 10 minutes or take bus number 433/431 from Circular Quay.

The dessert I tried here was Black Sticky Rice, it is one of the recommended dessert by the chef there. The presentation was great, black from the rice and white from the coconut milk. The taste and texture was amazing, sweet and savory fill my mouth with joy.

 This dessert is recommended for those who is curious about Indonesian dessert and those who love sweets.

Sugar Waffle


What is waffle? Have you ever try waffle at Max Brenner?

Waffle is a leavened batter or dough cooked between two plates, patterned to give a characteristic size, shape and surface impression. There are many variations based on the type of waffle and recipe used, such as flour, salt baking powder and sugar.

However, waffle that I bought from Max Brenner a was sugar waffle and sugar waffle is kind of the most favourite dessert at Max Brenner, it taste surprisingly good, and it also cost about $6 for the waffle it self. If you guys getting Tutti Frutti waffle which cost around $12 it will comes with three sides that you can choose between dark or milk chocolate as the chocolate drizzle on top of the waffle and vanilla or chocolate ice cream on the side.

This tuttii frutti waffle also served with fruits such as strawberries and banana. I would recommend you guys to get this sugar Tutti Frutti waffle and Milk hot chocolate for the drink as they are the best waffle and chocolate drink I have every had!!

Wine Garden



This is one very traditional Chinese dessert named Wine Garden. For most of time, when member of family have finished dinner, then having a sweet soup would be wonderful. The small white ball tasted soft and good for biting. Perfect dessert for winter time. Hot soup with a little bit a wine is also better for stomach.

Chat Thai - Pandan Fried Bread (Patongo)


I'm back again this time with Thailand dessert. So I was bored and want to eat something sweet and nice, so i asked my friend to recommend me a good place. He told me there is a Thailand restaurant near Central called Chat Thai.

As he recommended, I ordered Thai milk tea and this Patongo. It might just look ordinary from outside because it it only pieces of fried bread. But then I try the fried bread with some pandan (the green stuff) the first bite got me speechless. the sweetness and texture of bread just match perfectly!!

Worth to give it a try guys, the food is awesome as well. Highly recommended for food and dessert lovers!

Prawn Deluxe


This home-made dessert consists of:

King prawns peeled of its shell (or skin) carefully placed on;

Avocado and corn mixture, hand mashed and placed in the middle of;

Chilli flakes with a hint of pepper infused in its taste.

This is served cold with lime squeezed over the top. It gets rid of the 'fishy' taste that some people dislike, as well as the vegetable taste from the avocado, and blends it into a whole new flurry of exquisite tastes.

Highly recommended for a hot day, together with a main meal that's similar to the typical Aussie steak and sausage meal.

Devon by Night




Hi guys, i'm back with a new dessert in this beautiful place - Devon. This is a brunch cafe, but they open during weekend nights as well, coming with the name Devon by Night. I heard the dessert here are awesome, so i wanted to give it a try. It is located on Danks st, Waterloo, opposite of the Hillsong church. They have another branch, which is the original one at Devonshire st, Surry Hills. I guess that's why they named it Devon Cafe. Enough introduction, let's proceed to the awesome dessert!

Greentea Matcha Fondant 

The Greentea Matcha fondant comes with a Houji-cha ice cream and honeydew on the side. There were also sparkles of crunchy biscuits, which brings the whole texture to another level. The soft fondant is filled with greentea lava, it taste really greentea-ish but sweet at the same time. If you are a green tea lover, i do really recommend this dish for you, it's in you must have list! The perfect combination of taste happens when you eat the cake with lava, give it a little bit of ice cream and biscuits... it's heaven. I just can't get enough of this greentea fondant because honestly i am one of the most genuine fans of greentea out here! Who's with me? 


Coconut Jelly

This is not just a normal coconut jelly as you can see in the picture above. It comes with mango sorbet and also mango crackles. It looks amazing and sounds good, but all i could taste was sour... and i hate sour desserts. I always think dessert should be either fresh or sweet. When it is sour, it just doesn't make me feel happy :(. Some of my friends like this though, obviously if you like mango, you're definitely gonna like it.

Adriano Zumbo

Adriano Zumbo is an Australian patissier and chef, his macaron I believe is the best patisserie I have ever had, I went to Adriano Zumbo in Sydney Star City. I have tried the salted macarons. For the first, I thought that the mix was a bit too watery, however when I bite the macarons and the taste came out in my mouth I was surprised with the taste, it was so good. Furthermore, the dessert were beautifully packaged.


To sump up, these patisserie are worth to try guys, as this layer on the macarons will reminds you that is still a proper macarons.

Passion Flower - Waffle With Ice Cream



How is it going guys !? I'm back this time with something cool and icy. After a day doing assignment i went to Passion Flower in Kingsford to have this waffle with ice cream. Passion Flower has several shop in Sydney which is located in Capitol Square and Kingsford.

The waffle was freshly baked and crunchy, the ice cream I choose was sesame ice cream. the combination of waffle + sesame ice cream and maple syrup was amazing, everything just work out in my mouth.

Would be nice if you guys could visit this place just to have a dessert while chilling and relaxing after a stressful day. The ultimate ice cream and dessert indulgence will absolutely make you stay.

The Choc Pot


The Choc Pot is located under The District building along Chatswood railway. The place was nicely decorated but it is just a small place that won’t be enough to held in as much customers. They also have a branch in Burwood. As I walked in The Choc Pot, I could see the scent of chocolate was floating around everywhere.

I ordered their Signature dish, which is named after the store – The Choc Pot. It is basically a beautiful eruption of molten chocolate fondant from the center of a baked muffin, which is placed in a 4cm pot, paired with some strawberries on the side. It does take quite awhile for the dessert to be served, probably around 10 to 15 minutes. The chocolate was nice and the texture was really smooth ….. it would just melt in your mouth.
I love their signature, everything was just so perfectly in place and every bite was worth it. This is a place I would always consider of coming back again.

Watermelon Cake


This is the watermelon cake from Newtown area, which the famous store is Black star. Actually, when I first come to OZ, I heard that one is local desert. And the tricky things is that all Newtown person are proud of this desert. When the stronger ask for the direction, they can directly pointed out where it is without any map app.

This desert tasted very yummy and wouldn't bring the uncomfortable sweet to people, and the fruit combined in the cake bring the nature feeling to the customer. Until now, whenever I went to the area near Sydney university, I would go there to have one.

La Maison De L'eclair



We have had enough of macaroons and cupcakes, now it's the time for éclair. A éclair is a crispy  dough, filled with cream and topped with fondant icing. It’s a delicious French classic, especially for Parisian. This pastry shop at Bondi Road has been well known to have the best éclair in Sydney. It was around 5pm on Sunday, the shop was about to close, I think I was the last customer they had on that day. How lucky :))

I had three éclairs as you can see in the picture, Nutella (right), Crunchy Hazelnut (centre), Caramel (left). The Nutella Éclair ($8.50) was pretty tasty as is all things with Nutella! This éclair with its wonderfully smooth Nutella cream filling on top filled all the corners of the whole éclair, accompanied by small crunch balls on top. The Crunchy Hazelnut Éclair ($8.50) was a fair runner up to the Nutella éclair with a crunchy hazelnut cream filling topped with a sweet hazelnut fondant, nougatine, hazelnuts, gold leaf and a mini macaroon with a delicately crisp shell. The Caramel Éclair ($8.50) was nothing special compared to those two. Basically it was filled with caramel on the top and melted chocolate on the inside. All I could taste was sweet upon sweet.

Skinny Cow Vannila Ice Cream

Skinny Cow Ice Cream is desserts or ice cream that made from healthy and low fat ice cream. Here is I show you guys two of the skinny cow's product that I recon is the best dessert while you're on diet.

Number one is Skinny cow ice cream with biscuit on the side (picture above), these nestle product is available in many flavours such as vanilla, chocolate, and caramel. It has low calories and low fat ice cream, although it taste is surprisingly amazing! It is soft, sweet, and worth to try. Skinny cow ice cream are the best dessert for those who wants to stay healthy but still can find happiness in every bite!

There is also Ice Cream Cone by skinny cow that has only 150 Calories per serve which is pretty low for a dessert that taste this good!! I would recommend you guys to grab and have this dessert while you try to have a dessert and fit in your macro-nutrients at the same time. You guys can find this ice cream on many supermarket such as Coles and Woolworths for only $8 per box.

N2 x Black Star Pastry

Watermelon Cake Ice Cream $8

I found this amazing strawberry watermelon ice cream at one of the food stall for Spectrum Now Festival. The infamous N2 nitrogen ice cream comes working together with Black Star Pastry to make this dreamy ice cream. 

This is the best combination you could ever find between cake and ice cream. The cream in it is so thick yet still fresh with pieces of watermelon and strawberries in it. It is showered with rose petals on top, as you can see in the picture.... and yes, of course it is eatable. 

One thing you have to be concerned when you have this little cup is they melt really fast like a in a blink of eye. You won't actually have time to take a good picture of it, but I’m glad I made it. Yay for me! 

Vanilla Cupcakery



Two weeks ago I visited the Vanilla Cupcakery to purchase 4 cupcakes for my girlfriend and her mum. They were good but pricey, at $14.50 for the box. This is understandable because they are hand-made and beautifully designed, with a nice cafe feel. The location also doesn't attract many customers despite the great taste.
